Overlooking the Cliffs of Moher after our wedding.

In 2021 I married my husband at the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland.  It was the most amazing experience I could imagine. It was a beautiful September day that was like a fairy tale.  I planned the entire event, and the locals that I worked with could not have been better.  We worked with the Sea View House for accommodations and help with finding the celebrant, photographer, and videographer. They also suggested a bakery and we had the most amazing lemon wedding cake. It really was the perfect day.

We started our journey in Dublin. We stayed for two nights to explore and visited some wonderful sites and pubs. Everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming, as was the case throughout the country. The Book of Kells and Dublin Castle are must-sees. The food was delicious, especially the local seafood and Irish beef.  There are also some amazing cocktail bars, highlighted by the Vintage Cocktail Club, which was fantastic.

I rented a car so we could drive through the countryside, which was gorgeous.  We stopped for a night here and there and found some amazing locations.  We stayed in at Lough Rynn Castle hotel, which was top tier. We also stayed at the luxurious Mount Juliet Estate and enjoyed the wonderful city center of Kilkenny.

From there we went to Galway, stopping in Athlone to visit Ireland's oldest pub, Sean's Bar, serving since the 900s. The staff at Sean's Bar are fantastic. It's a great pit stop on the way from Dublin to Galway. Galway is a vibrant, lively city full of pubs and shops. It's a wonderful city to go out on the town and has great restaurants.

Doolin was our main stop, being the location of our wedding ceremony. The picturesque town is what I think most people envision when you think of Ireland. Small farm houses with pastures of cows, sheep, and horses dot the roads. The main street has plenty of restaurants, pubs, and shops to keep you entertained for days. and of course the location is the best spot for exploring the breathtaking Cliffs of Moher, either by land or by sea, as there are ferry boats that offer tours form the pier to the cliffs, and are only about an hour long. Doolin will always have a special place in my heart.

After our wedding ceremony, we stayed a couple of more nights in Doolin before moving along to Killarney. Another lively city center with shops and pubs is surrounded by the gorgeous Killarney National Park.  From the Gap of Dunloe, to Torc Waterfall, Ross Castle, and the Muckross House and Gardens, the area on the Ring of Kerry is full of scenic wonders. It's a photographer's dream.

From Killarney we returned to Dublin, staying another night before our flight home. It's always hard to leave such a magical place. I barely get home before I start planning a return trip.
