Olden, Norway

I have been lucky enough to explore some of the most incredible destinations around the globe, but my recent cruise across Northern Europe was a trip of a lifetime that I won't soon forget. Sailing on the stunning Norwegian Prima, in its luxurious Haven class, my husband and I set off for an itinerary filled with adventure, beauty, and unique experiences. From the midnight sun in Iceland to the enchanting streets of Bruges, this journey was nothing short of magical.

Iceland: The Midnight Sun and Its Mesmerizing Glow

One of the most striking parts of my journey was the two stops in Iceland, where I experienced the magic of the midnight sun. For those unfamiliar, the midnight sun is a natural phenomenon that occurs in the summer months near the Arctic Circle. The sun remains visible even at midnight, casting an ethereal glow over the landscape. This unique light made Iceland’s already stunning scenery feel even more surreal. The waterfalls, rolling hills, and dramatic coastline were bathed in golden light for hours, creating a one-of-a-kind experience I’ll never forget. I had visited Iceland before, but seeing it during the midnight sun made me fall in love with the country all over again. It’s an experience that words alone can hardly capture, and I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking something truly extraordinary.

Bergen, Norway: Charming Even in the Rain

Bergen, known as one of the rainiest cities in Europe, welcomed me with its signature showers. But far from dampening my spirits, the rain added a special charm to this picturesque city. Wandering through Bergen’s old streets, with colorful wooden houses and quaint shops, I found myself enchanted by the city’s cozy atmosphere. Even in the drizzle, Bergen’s famous harbor and surrounding mountains stood as a testament to Norway’s natural beauty. It’s a city where a rainy day only enhances the experience, and I couldn’t help but smile as I explored its winding paths.

Olden, Norway: A Paradise for Outdoor Lovers

Of all the places I visited, Olden, Norway, might have been the most breathtaking. Nestled within the famous Norwegian fjords, Olden is an outdoor lover’s paradise. The kindness of the locals and the sheer natural beauty surrounding me at every turn made it one of the most welcoming places I’ve ever been. We took a scenic gondola ride to the top of a fjord, soaking in panoramic views that left me speechless. And for a real adventure, we hiked to a nearby glacier, immersing ourselves in one of the most stunning landscapes we have ever encountered. The combination of towering mountains, crystal-clear waters, and vast glaciers made Olden one of my favorite stops. It’s a place I now consider arguably the most beautiful I’ve ever seen.

Bruges, Belgium: A Fairytale City

After the rugged beauty of Norway, Bruges felt like stepping into a fairytale. With its medieval buildings, charming canals, and cobblestone streets, this Belgian city captured my heart from the moment I arrived. Every turn revealed a picturesque view, as if the entire city was designed for wanderers to get lost in its storybook charm. Bruges’ peaceful atmosphere and timeless beauty made it the perfect place to relax and take in a quieter, more romantic side of Europe.

Sailing on the Norwegian Prima: The Haven Experience

This incredible voyage was made even more memorable by my time aboard the Norwegian Prima, particularly in the ship’s luxurious Haven class. With exclusive access to a private bar, restaurant, pool, and outdoor lounge area, I enjoyed a level of comfort and service that truly elevated the entire trip. The ship itself was large and beautifully designed, offering multiple free dining options and upgraded specialty restaurants that satisfied every craving. Our room was nothing short of spectacular, complete with a welcome bottle of champagne and the attentive service of a personal butler—an indulgence that made our stay even more special.

This European cruise left me with memories that will last a lifetime. The combination of stunning destinations, thrilling onboard entertainment, and luxurious accommodations aboard the Norwegian Prima made this adventure one for the books. Whether you’re dreaming of the midnight sun in Iceland or wandering through the streets of Bruges, I’d love to help you plan your own unforgettable journey!
