As a flight attendant, ticket agent and customer service agent in the airline industry for over 10 years I have extensive knowledge and experience in the travel industry. I have also traveled to every continent with the goal of reaching every inch...

I have traveled extensively around the world but Croatia might be my new favorite destination! It has the European charm with its gorgeous historic architecture combined with the beauty of island life with crystal clear turquoise waters. I started my trip with an amazing trek through the Plitvice Lakes National Park. I was able to find a very clean and comfortable AirBNB that felt like a swiss chalet. I rented a car for this leg of my trip knowing that all my destinations were reached easily and at my own pace. My breath was taken away by the beauty of the amazing natural wonders at Plitvice Park. I spent the day wandering from one waterfall to the next just in awe of the glowing bright blue water and the lush landscape surround, it was more stupendous than I even imagined and definitely should not be missed. Next I drove down through Zagreb to Split. I stayed at the Le Meridian which was a very beautiful Bonvoy property. My favorite part about Split was wandering through the historic old town full of so much history and beauty. At this point I turned my rental car in and boarded a ferry boat over to Hvar. Upon docking I was absolutely in awe of this island! I felt so embraced by the vibe in the main square and the charm and beauty made me never want to leave. I found an absolutely perfect 1 bedroom flat in the historic square for only $70 with all the amenities i needed and from their I could wander around the island. I hiked to the top of the hill to see the castle and soak in the amazing views. I followed the cobblestone path for miles around the beaches stopping off for an Aperol Spritz or a dip in the ocean. I was in heaven eating the freshest seafoold and squid ink pasta and always saved room for the most delicious gelato at aROMA. The next day of hired a boat for the day and went island hopping stopping at the most breathtaking private beaches and a quick stop at the famous blue lagoon. Another day I rented a Vespa and drove around Hvar tasting wine at a local winery and visiting other areas of the island, stopped at all the famous beaches, each more beautiful than the next. It was time to continue my adventure so I took another ferry to the most amazing mideaval town called Korcula. The entire island town felt unreal as I walked through the old town which was built completely around the castle centered in the middle. I felt as if I was in a fairy tale as I soaked in the history and beauty of this unreal place. I finally made my way down to the famous town of Dubrovnik. I found a great place to stay in the old town on booking.com which was walkable to everything. I am a big Game of Thrones fan so it was fun seeing all the familiar sites from the show. I highly recommend making the walk around the entire town upon the top of the walls of the city. It gives you perspective of the entire city and amazing views of the ocean beyond. I stopped off at a well known bar that sits on the cliffs of the ocean to cool off from the summer heat and have a cold drink. I have to say that throughout my trip to Croatia I enjoyed the best food and pastries and gelato I have ever eaten. I felt more European history than I've ever experienced traveling through Europe and I got to enjoy the island life swimming in the warm crystal blue waters of the beautiful beaches and islands. For anyone thinking of visiting this magical place I highly recommend it!!! I would love to help you plan the perfect trip like I had!
