Stingray City Adventure

The perfect day in Grand Cayman started with a delectable coffee and freshly baked pastry at my resort. I then boarded my transportation bus that would take me and a small group of others to the board point for our morning snorkeling activity. We met our tour leader and soon we were sailing away from the island into the sparkling crystal water.

Our initial snorkel spot was over a massive coral reef. It was so relaxing and mesmerizing to float on the water and watch the vibrant sea life swim below me. Amazingly, my resort provided me with a water-proof Go-Pro to capture these incredible visuals. Soon we re-boarded the boat and took off to the next location, Sting Ray City! I was astonished by the amount of stingrays happily swimming around the sand bar. Our tour guide did an excellent job ensuring our safety as we got to take turns holding a stingray for a photo. They are surprisingly soft and not slimy like I had imagined. Standing on the sand bar while the sting rays swam around us was a surreal experience. We re-boarded and made our way to Starfish Point. The warm waters are home to hundreds of starfish that we got to see up close and personal.

Before I knew it, our tour was over and it was time to return to the resort. I ordered myself a cold cocktail and prepared to lay out on a sun bed by the glistening waters. Relaxation was at its peak listening to the waves break on the beach. The resort staff were so attentive and created a perfect Caribbean atmosphere at the beach side bar. I spent hours soaking up the sunshine until it was time for dinner. Locals recommended Peppers, a nearby restaurant that served a mouth-watering display of Caribbean Jerk Pork Ribs and a Lobster Tail. To say this dinner was amazing would still manage to be an understatement. I forever look forward to eating at Peppers every time I go to Grand Cayman.
