My recent 15-day luxury tour of Japan was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment I arrived in Tokyo to my departure, every detail was meticulously planned, ensuring a seamless and unforgettable experience.
Day 1: Tokyo Upon arrival in Tokyo, I was greeted by a private chauffeur who whisked me away to The Peninsula Tokyo. The hotel's grandeur and hospitality set the tone for the rest of my trip. My first evening was spent exploring Asakusa with a private guide, followed by a delicious meal at a Michelin-starred restaurant.
Day 2-3: Tokyo Over the next two days, I enjoyed a perfect blend of cultural immersion and luxury. Highlights included a private tour of Meiji Shrine, personal shopping in Omotesando and Harajuku, and an exclusive sushi dining experience at Sukiyabashi Jiro. The private tour of Tsukiji Fish Market, complete with a sushi-making class, was a delightful and interactive experience.
Day 4-5: Hakone The journey to Hakone was comfortable and efficient, thanks to the private transfer arranged by the agency. Gora Kadan, a luxury ryokan, exceeded all expectations with its traditional kaiseki dinners and serene onsen baths. Exploring the Hakone Open-Air Museum and cruising on Lake Ashi with stunning views of Mount Fuji were truly memorable.
Day 6-9: Kyoto The bullet train ride to Kyoto was first-class and effortless. The Ritz-Carlton Kyoto provided unparalleled luxury and comfort. The private tours of Fushimi Inari Shrine, Kiyomizu-dera Temple, and the Gion district were enlightening and well-paced. The geisha dinner experience was a unique cultural highlight, and the visit to Arashiyama Bamboo Grove and Tenryu-ji Temple, followed by a boat ride on the Hozu River, was breathtaking.
Day 10-11: Osaka The St. Regis Osaka offered elegance and sophistication, perfectly complementing the city's vibrant energy. A private food tour of Dotonbori introduced me to Osaka's culinary delights. Visiting Osaka Castle and the aquarium were fantastic experiences, topped off with a fine dining evening.
Day 12-13: Hiroshima Traveling to Hiroshima was smooth, and the Sheraton Grand Hiroshima Hotel provided a perfect base for exploration. The private guide’s tour of the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and Museum was profoundly moving. The day trip to Miyajima Island, with its iconic Itsukushima Shrine, was a serene and picturesque escape.
Day 14-15: Tokyo Returning to Tokyo, Aman Tokyo offered a luxurious and tranquil conclusion to my journey. The private tour of Odaiba and the teamLab Borderless exhibit was fascinating, and last-minute shopping in Ginza was a delightful way to end the trip. The private airport transfer ensured a stress-free departure.
