Santa Fe

You can tell a lot about place by the Pictures, but to really get the feel for the atmosphere and adaptability, friendly not Friendly, you should go there and taste the food and meet the people.

Recently, I had the opportunity to visit the state of New Mexico, purely to check out the housing market, Bar's, food and events, and oh course the people.  We came into to Albuquerque and visited many cities including Santa Fe, Los Alamos, and Las Cruses.  We were looking for a little piece of South Western Americana and we found it.

The metropolitan areas of New Mexico have the old west charm and casual feel. While there we went to AAA baseball game. Albuquerque has many venues for sporting events and concerts. The food was wonderful and the staff was helpful, polite and friendly. The area surrounding the park is clean and plenty of parking at a reasonable price. The next day we headed to Santa Fe. An Artist's dream community and a mix of cultures wrapped around the old church that stands like a pillar of historical beauty. Next we headed to the infamous Los Alamos with its higher elevation a hilly winding road one leads you into the quaint historical Town, where statues of Oppenheimer and the General stand in towns square next to a replica of the homes they built and stay in during the project.  Before leaving the area, we visited Sandia, where the homes are nestled along the mountain side. Many local shops, bar's and eatery's to choose from.

After that we headed south, down the long road to Las Cruises, which is a 3-4 hour drive. Not much to talk about there a few tiny townships and a lot of sage brush. Once in the Las Cruises area the really nice. Modern Building, New housing, Shops a plenty, Fun places to eat and drink and smoke. The housing market is reasonable compared to west coast prices. So my conclusion is New Mexico has a lot to offer, including affordability nice people and some lower prices then Main street USA.
