Sicily offers a unique blend of history, culture, natural beauty, culinary delights, and warm hospitality, making it an unforgettable destination for travelers seeking an authentic Mediterranean experience. Sicily's landscapes are incredibly diverse, offering something for every traveler. Explore the dramatic volcanic terrain of Mount Etna, Europe's tallest active volcano, or relax on sandy beaches along the coastline. Picturesque towns like Taormina, with its panoramic views and ancient Greek theater, provide a blend of natural beauty and historical charm. Sicilian cuisine is renowned worldwide for its bold flavors, fresh ingredients, and diverse influences. Sample delicious dishes such as arancini (stuffed rice balls), pasta alla norma, fresh seafood specialties, cannoli pastries, and refreshing granita desserts. The island's wine production, especially Marsala and Etna wines, also adds to its gastronomic appeal.

I've always had a deep love for travel. As a young adult, I thought that nothing could beat a Caribbean vacation...sun, sand, umbrella drinks, the smell of coconut scented suntan lotion... I mean, life just couldn't get any better. Now don't get me wrong. Caribbean Islands are beautiful and they're terrific places to visit. But as I matured, I wanted to expand my horizons and take a shot at a completely different type of holiday. That's when I began exploring National Parks in the U.S. and Canada. Wow! I loved the diversity of the scenery and wildlife. It amazed me that in just a few hours I could drive from a beach, to a desert, to a mountain range. Fast forward a few more years and I now wanted to conquer my first European vacation. My husband and I took a river cruise that went through Germany, Austria, and Hungary. I WAS HOOKED!!! Being in small towns that have kept their culture and traditions for centuries amazes me. I love the architecture and I constantly marvel at the craftsmanship of those old buildings, whether they are houses, castles, or churches. It seems the more I travel and experience new towns, cities, and countries, the more I want to plan the next exciting journey.
There are seemingly endless benefits of traveling. My geography skills have improved. The lessons that I was taught in high school or college now make so much more sense because I can put them in context. I'm now motivated to try to learn another language since so many citizens in other countries are bilingual. But one of the most valuable benefits of travel is the wonderful collection of people you meet along the way. I have friends all over the world and it brings me so much joy to keep in touch and enjoy the world through their journeys and experiences.
It's a big world out there and I want to visit as many places as I possibly can. Hopefully I'll see you out there on the road...or airplane...or ship! Save Travels!
