Indiana holds a special place in my heart, as it’s been the backdrop for many unforgettable moments throughout my life. Growing up, I had the privilege of dancing on the iconic campus of Notre Dame, where the stunning architecture and the vibrant student energy created an inspiring environment. I spent countless hours rehearsing on the quad, soaking in the history and beauty of the campus, which still feels like a second home to me. As a child, weekends were often spent in Michigan City, where I explored the shores of Lake Michigan. The beach trips, shopping in the quaint downtown, and visiting the Washington Park Zoo are memories I hold dear. The town’s blend of natural beauty and local charm made it an ideal escape from everyday life, and I still return to the area to enjoy its calm, relaxing atmosphere.

In my teens, Fort Wayne became a destination for family fun, especially during the Blueberry and Apple Festivals. The lively crowds, farm-fresh foods, and entertainment at these festivals were a highlight every year. These festivals became a tradition that introduced me to the warmth and hospitality of Indiana’s smaller towns, and I always looked forward to indulging in the local treats and celebrating the changing seasons.

My time living in Indianapolis for three years marked an exciting chapter of my life. The city, full of energy and diversity, quickly became my home away from home. From visiting the Indianapolis Zoo and Children’s Museum to enjoying the thrill of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, there was always something new to explore. I loved the city’s vibrant downtown, its eclectic dining scene, and its diverse cultural offerings. Over the years, I’ve visited Indiana University in Bloomington for educational conferences, and every trip to this charming college town has been memorable. The picturesque campus, known for its beautiful limestone buildings and lush green spaces, always provides an inspiring setting for professional gatherings. I’ve also had the chance to explore the surrounding areas, enjoying the local art scene, dining at unique restaurants, and spending time in the nearby Hoosier National Forest, which is a perfect escape for hiking and outdoor adventures.

One of my most unforgettable birthdays was spent at the Wilstem Wildlife Safari in French Lick. The experience of seeing exotic animals up close in the beautiful, serene setting of French Lick was both exhilarating and humbling. The day was topped off by exploring the historic West Baden Springs Hotel, a grand and picturesque resort with a rich history that made my special day feel even more extraordinary.

Whether it’s the academic history of Bloomington, the natural beauty of Michigan City, or the vibrant atmosphere of Indianapolis, Indiana has been the backdrop to so many cherished memories. It’s a place that feels both familiar and inspiring, and I’ll always have a deep connection to it.

From the moment we arrived, everything was perfectly arranged for an unforgettable experience. One of the absolute highlights was the private elephant experience Lori set up for me. Being able to feed and bathe these majestic animals up close was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The staff was so knowledgeable and passionate, making the experience both educational and incredibly fun.
