The most exotic islands I’ve seen are in French Polynesia – blessed with stunning over water bungalows atop crystal clear lagoons. The South Pacific offers unmatched tropical opulence and Bora Bora is the crown jewel.I planned a trip with my wife after watching Couples Retreat- a hilarious 2009 comedy filmed in Bora Bora at the St. Regis Resort. A private yacht delivered us from the tiny airport to the resort. Our bungalow had a glass floor for viewing the aquatic brilliance below and a majestic view of Mt. Otemanu. There were complimentary bikes, paddle boats & standup paddle boards to burn calories while exploring the island. On the far edge was a 12,000 square ft. villa and helicopter pad being prepared for Beyonce & JZ.By day we relaxed on the beach, played volleyball and boated past the lagoon on a scuba expedition.
