Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone Natl Park
Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone Natl Park

Montana and Wyoming are home to several stunning National Parks, each offering unique natural beauty and outdoor experiences. Perhaps the most well-known because it was the very first National Park established by then President Theodore Roosevelt in 1872 is Yellowstone National Park. Yellowstone is most famous for its geothermal features like Old Faithful and the Grand Prismatic Spring, diverse ecosystems, and abundant wildlife, including bison, elk, and wolves. Popular activities include hiking, camping, wildlife watching, photography, and exploring geothermal areas. The entire park encompasses 3,472 square miles and it takes at least a couple of days to really experience all that the park has to offer.  Just about 50 miles from the East entrance to the park you'll find Cody, Wyoming, fondly dubbed the Rodeo Capitol of the World because it is the ONLY rodeo that has events nightly through the entire months of July and August.  Catching a rodeo is a must do for sure!

Grand Teton National Park, located just south of Yellowstone, features the beautiful Teton mountain range whose rugged peaks tower over the valley of Jackson Hole, providing dramatic alpine scenery and beautiful crystal clear lakes. Over billions of years, natural forces including earthquakes, glaciers and erosion have shaped this magnificent landscape. The towering Teton Mountains are a highlight, along with locations like Jenny Lake, Hidden Falls, Inspiration Point, and the Snake River. Activities include hiking, mountain climbing, white-water rafting, boating, fly-fishing, and wildlife viewing. It’s also a great place for photography, particularly during sunrise and sunset.

Glacier National Park, located in the northwest corner of Montana along the spine of the Rocky Mountains is a showcase of melting glaciers, alpine meadows, carved valleys, and spectacular lakes. It is a paradise for adventurous visitors seeking a landscape steeped in human culture.  The park features over 700 miles of trails, numerous glacial lakes, and the famous Going-to-the-Sun Road, which spans approximately 50 miles and connects the west and east sides of the park. It runs through some of the park's most stunning landscapes, and features narrow lanes, hairpin turns, and breathtaking overlooks. Top activities are hiking, camping, fly-fishing in the Flathead River, scenic drives, and wildlife watching. Popular hikes include the Highline Trail and Grinnell Glacier Trail.

Both states have park access points, with roads connecting Yellowstone to Grand Teton and Glacier National Park. A road trip combining these parks is a very popular itinerary.  I've done it myself and a trip to Yellowstone, Grand Teton, and Glacier National Parks embodies the spirit of adventure, discovery, and connection to nature. It’s an experience that rejuvenates the soul and fosters a deeper appreciation for the beauty and diversity of our planet. Whether you seek adventure, tranquility, or inspiration, this extraordinary journey through three of America’s great national parks leaves lasting memories and a sense of wonder. Whether you enjoy hiking, photography, or simply immersing yourself in nature, Montana and Wyoming's parks have something for everyone! Let's get started planning your adventure today!

My Reviews

An Unbelievable Journey through Europe
Rebecca planned all the details for my husband's and my 10th wedding anniversary trip to Europe. We spent 5 weeks driving through German, Austria, Italy, Spain and Portugal. It was the most amazing trip we've ever done. And her guidance and her organization of all the parts and pieces of the trip were incredible. Would highly recommend her and will most certainly use her for our next trip

The National Parks are just awe-inspiring, aren't they?? It was so much fun to plan this trip for you and relive some of my own experienced in the Mighty 5 and all the other Parks you were able to visit. I hope, like me, it will remain one of your fondest travel memories! Thanks for letting me be a part of the planning! So glad it was everything you were hoping for. Not everyone can say they've landed in a helicopter on a glacier and then hiked the glacier! And the fact that you were fortunate enough to get to see all of Denali was amazing. I too can't wait to plan your next vacation for you!
