Athens Travel Agent Expert

Athens, Greece, is a vibrant mix of ancient history and modern flair.

With its iconic Acropolis overlooking the city, it's a place where you can stroll through millennia-old ruins in the morning and sip coffee at a trendy café in the afternoon.

The city pulses with life, from the bustling markets of Monastiraki to the charming streets of Plaka.

a journey to Athens is like delving into the very heart of Western civilization, where ancient ruins stand as silent witnesses to the birth of democracy, philosophy, and the arts. My trip to this historic city was a captivating odyssey through the annals of human history, a chance to walk in the footsteps of legends and immerse myself in the rich tapestry of Greek culture.Arriving in Athens, I was immediately struck by the juxtaposition of ancient and modern. The Acropolis loomed majestically over the city, its iconic Parthenon standing as a symbol of the city's illustrious past. Wandering through the labyrinthine streets of Plaka, I marveled at the blend of neoclassical architecture and vibrant street art, the echoes of antiquity mingling with the pulse of contemporary life.Ascending the sacred hill of the Acropolis, I felt a sense of awe wash over me as I gazed upon the monumental ruins that lay before me. The Parthenon, with its graceful columns and weathered marble, stood as a testament to the enduring legacy of ancient Greece, while the Erechtheion and Temple of Athena Nike spoke of a civilization that once ruled the known world.Exploring the Acropolis Museum, I delved into the history of this revered site, marveling at the intricately carved sculptures and priceless artifacts that offered insight into the lives of the ancient Greeks. From the graceful figures of the Caryatids to the hauntingly beautiful statues of gods and goddesses, each piece told a story of myth, legend, and human triumph. But Athens is not just a city of ancient ruins; it is also a vibrant cultural hub where the past and present collide in a kaleidoscope of sights, sounds, and flavors. Sampling traditional Greek cuisine in tavernas and ouzeries, I indulged in mezes of olives and feta, grilled souvlaki, and decadent baklava, savoring each bite as if it were a taste of history itself.Venturing beyond the city limits, I explored the surrounding Attica region, where scenic landscapes and charming villages awaited. From the sun-drenched beaches of the Athenian Riviera to the rugged peaks of Mount Parnitha, each destination offered its own unique allure, a chance to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and connect with the natural beauty of Greece. As my time in Athens came to an end, I found myself filled with a profound sense of gratitude for the experiences I had shared and the memories I had made. Athens had cast its spell on me, leaving me enchanted by its ancient wonders and captivated by its modern charms. And though my journey may have ended, the spirit of Athens would forever live on in my heart, a beacon of inspiration and enlightenment for generations to come.

Whether you're a history buff, a foodie, or a nightlife enthusiast, Athens has something to offer everyone.

Trip of a lifetime to South Africa!
I have wanted to go to South Africa for years, needed a Travel Specialist, and struck gold when I found Diana. She listened, made suggestions, and designed the trip with the perfect accommodation, restaurants, destinations, WONDERFUL driver etc. Her recommendations for sightseeing in Cape Town and beyond exceeded our expectations. The hotels were 5 star and the accommodation at a Private Game Reserve were outstanding! She even booked an amazing hotel in the middle of the wine region, surrounded by magnificent mountains and vineyards. Diana made herself available day and night in the planning and duration of our trip. Our comfort, safety and pleasure were of high priority in her planning, and I can't believe that anyone else could have done it better. Diana is above and beyond a miracle worker, and the absolute best!

Beautiful Portofino
On our way back from visiting family in Genoa, we decided to visit Portofino. Diana booked accommodation for us in La Spezia, and the following day we took the ferry to Portofino. What amazing views as we approached the town. We walked around for a bit and then per her suggestion had lunch at one of the restaurants overlooking the bay. This was one of our favorite stops on the Italian Riviera.

Live Nativity near Todi, Umbria
This was our first visit to Todi in Umbria over the holidays. What a beautiful part of Italy's Greenbelt, surrounded by endless green hills and hilltop towns and villages. Diana suggested that we attend the Live Nativity in Fratta Todina in early January. This was only a 20 minute drive from where we were staying. In Italy, January 5 is when they celebrate the 3 Kings bringing gifts to baby Jesus. The whole village from young to old is involved in the reenactment as they walk up the only main streets covered in cobblestones and with merchants on either side selling from roasted chestnuts, to food and paintings. Our children loved this experience and are still talking about it. Thank you again, Diana!
