I have been traveling solo since the summer of 2017, it was the scariest thing I had ever done. Yet, at the same time, the most liberating. When I decided at the age of 31, to throw caution to the wind and go half way across the world from Fargo, ND to Oslo, Norway with just a carry on/personal item, a few hundred bucks, and a need for change I knew life would never be the same. I was never more right in my life.

I of course traveled a bit as a kid going on cruises, Disney World, and family road trips, but nothing like this. This was going to change how I looked at the world and life. I was born and raised on the south side of Chicago, where traveling for most outside of city limits was amazing, but I knew at a young age I wanted to see the world more. I knew that life had more to offer. I knew that because I did a lot of research, back before the Internet really took off in the early 2000s. Places such as Bali and Dubai were suddenly on my radar. 

Now, that I have visited more then several different countries over the past six years I get euphoric  thinking about my journeys, and that is why I became a travel specialist. I want to show travelers the world. Not just any world...but the world of luxury traveling. Whether it is solo or group travel, I have exactly the trip for you.

There is a saying in Danish that really doesn't have an English translation, and that is hygge. It roughly translates to cozy. The Scandinavian culture is about simplicity and comfort. It's about lighting a candle and snuggling with a good book. They have long winters so it just makes sense to be as comfortable as possible throughout. Hygge is about taking your time and really enjoying the moment. As with such terms as fika. Which is a short coffee break so to say when the office gathers for a nice break together and enjoys cookies and coffee. 

The Scandic counties are filled with rich history that everyone can enjoy. If you are a literary person, Denmark has the Kronborg Slot in which Hamlet was based upon. With it's many rooms and dark dungeon you can almost feel and see the play coming to life as you roam the halls. For the fairytale lovers Copenhagen is your city. It's got The Little Mermaid and castles all around the city. Hans Christian Andersen hometown of Odense is about an hour or so away you catch by train. 

Norway has amazing museums and architecture. It's a seaside nation so fish is abundant and I recommend highly the fisksuppe. Spend some time by the pier, and you can see where they hand out the Nobel Prize, it's truly a site for the history buff.

Do you like shopping at IKEA or perhaps you drive a Volvo? Listen to Spotify or one day want to see the Northern Lights? You have Sweden to thank for these wonderful things. Sweden is also known for the famous Ice Hotel. This unique experience of actually sleeping on ice and seeing The Northern Lights, is almost like a once in a life time venture. Sweden is also famous for its landscape, the picturesque parks and mountains make it worth any nature lover's dream. Even still if one wants to feel a more urban vibe look on further then the capital of Stockholm. Stockholm is best known  for the musical scene and cool vibes. The pop scene is still very prominent and if you love live music this is definitely the place to be. Malmo sits on the coast, and its beach vibes all day if a person wants to relax and mellow out on their vacation.
