Whether you're looking for a romantic getaway, family activities, or a weekend of adventure, Kauai has something for everyone.  Here are some of the best travel attractions in Kauai.  Waimea Canyon: This stunning canyon is one of the most breathtaking sights in Hawaii, and should be at the top of any traveler's list. The canyon displays red and orange paints at sunset, and the views are spectacular. Some people call the deep gorge the Grand Canyon of the Pacific. It spans ten miles in length and plunges 3,000 feet on the west side of Kauai. The name, “Waimea,” is a Hawaiian word that means “red-hued” water - a reference made to the eroding canyon’s red earth. The Na Pali Coast: The Na Pali Coast is a stunning stretch of coastline in northwest Kauai, and one of the most beautiful areas in the entire state. This rugged and remote coastline features secluded beaches, waterfalls, and towering sea cliffs. If you love to hike, you will love exploring this popular site. You’ll find the expansive shore in the Napali Coast State Wilderness park, known for its sea cliffs, known as pali, and its streams, cascades and valleys.  During your visit, take a hike down the Kalalau Trail, a steep hiking path that links the Kalalau Beach to Ke’e Beach, and winds through five valleys, including the Hanakoa Valley, which is home to indigenous plants and countryside terraces. Because of its perpendicular incline, the 11-mile trail is not made for the faint of heart. However, if you’re up for the challenge, you’ll find the views are worth making the climb. Wailua Falls: This picturesque waterfall is one of the most popular attractions on the island, and can be easily accessed from the town of Wailua. Kilauea Lighthouse: This historic lighthouse was built in 1913, and offers stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. Kauai Beaches: Kauai is home to some of the most amazing beaches in the world. In fact, Kauai, known as the Garden Island, is full of beauty, charm and adventure. From its picturesque beaches to captivating wildlife, it's a destination full of natural treasures.
