As a Phuket travel agent advisor, I must admit I’m enamored with the destination. Phuket City, on Phuket Island is the capital of Phuket Province in Thailand. It is one of those unique places on earth that no one can duplicate. For example, in the city’ Old Town, Thalang Road features brightly colored 19th-century shophouses and unique Sino-Portuguese architecture. Then there’s the Baan Chinpracha mansion, which a wealthy tin businessman built in 1903. The estate features shuttered windows, antique furnishings, and floor tiles made in Italy. Besides its history and architecture, Phuket is also home to beautiful beaches and incredible temples. I’ve compiled a list of some of the top attractions to see. 1. Big Buddha: The Big Buddha of Phuket is a stunning figure proudly looking over the island from its lofty perch on top of the Nakkerd Hills. This magnificent 45-meter statue is made from Burmese white marble and can be seen from many parts of the city. The immense statue guards Chalong Bay. 2. Old Town: For a taste of the history of Phuket, make sure to visit the Old Town. Here, you can wander the narrow streets, where you can explore some unique buildings, shops, and historic landmarks. 3. Wat Chalong: One of the most important Buddhist temples in Phuket is Wat Chalong. The main attraction here is the tall chedi, which is adorned with colorful tiles and statues. It’s a great place to learn more about Buddhism and admire the intricate architecture. 4. Phuket Fantasea: If you’re looking for a more lively experience, check out Phuket Fantasea. This interactive show is a unique blend of theater, music, and acrobatics, and is sure to be a hit for adults and kids alike. 5. Karon Beach: Karon Beach is one of the most popular beaches in Phuket and is known for its crystal clear waters, great snorkeling venues. You can also kayak or parasail to your heart’s content. 5. Flying Hanuman: Do you want to try ziplining? If so, Flying Hanuman is a thrilling zip-line tour located in the jungle of Phuket. Visitors can explore the rainforest from a bird's eye view on a series of zip-lines, bridges, and ladders. 6. Bangla Road: Bangla Road is the entertainment hub of Phuket. It's filled with bars, clubs, restaurants, and shops, making it a great place to party and have some fun. Whether you want excitement or serenity, Phuket offers both. Let’s continue with top attractions. 7. Kata Noi Beach: This popular beach is known for its crystal waters, white soft sand, and romantic climate. If you want to see the sunset, this is the ideal place. 8. Phi Phi Islands: The Phi Phi Islands are known for the turquoise waters and soft sands - both which invite scuba diving, snorkeling, and related water activities. 9. Patong: Patong is a vibrant beach with a whirlwind of nightlife activities. 10. Khao Lak National Park: The park is located close to the beach and is known for its diversity of wildlife and impressive waterfalls. As a travel agent professional for Phuket, I’ve given you a top ten list of attractions - places and activities you’ll want to take part in when you visit this destination in Thailand. Macau Travel Agent Expert
Macau represents an autonomous section that sits on the southern coast of China, across from Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta. Until 1999, it was a Portuguese territory. You will find this destination both culturally diverse and fun. Known as the Las Vegas of Asia, the area boasts malls and casinos lying on the Cotai Strip. You can enjoy sweeping views of the region from the Macau Tower - as well as see the adjoining islands of Coloane and Taipa. Therefore, you might say that Macau has dual identities - both revealing its European and Asian influences. On one hand, it’s a historical place rich in heritage and culture. On the other, it’s a modern tourist destination that boasts hotels, casinos, and resorts.
5 places to visit in Macau
1. Lugo Fort This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a beautiful example of Portuguese architecture and influences in Macau.
2. The Venetian Macao The Venetian Macao is one of the largest casino resorts in Asia, and a must-visit for any casino fan. You’ll find everything from an indoor beach to a giant indoor forest here, making it one of the best places to spend your time.
3. The Macau Tower If you’re short on time and want to skip the hustle and bustle of the city, head to Macau Tower – one of the best places to visit in Macau. Located on the western edge of the Cotai Strip, the tower is a great place to get picturesque views of the city and neighboring islands.
4. Maritime Museum Another great option if you’re looking to get outside the city is the Macau Maritime Museum. You can find it at #1 Largo do Pagode da Barra. It sits opposite to A-Ma Temple.
5. A-Ma Temple Built in dedication to the sea-goddess Mazu, A-Ma Temple was built in 1488. The temple is one of the oldest temples in Macau. A pleasant building to visit, the goddess is said to guard and protect seafarers and sailors.Other Places of InterestDepending on your travel itinerary, I can also give you a rundown of other places you’ll want to see. A brief recap follows: The Ruins of St. Paul Senado Square, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site
Fisherman’s Wharf - a shopping mall
The Wine and Grand Prix Museum - highlighting a collection of over 1,000 wine brands
Hac Sa Beach: A beautiful balck sand beach
The Neo-Classic St. Lawrence Church
THe Macau Canidrome Club - Famous for its dog racing events
Guia Fortress: An old first in Macau
The Best Times to Visit Macau
Macau is a great place to visit all year round, but the weather isn’t always conducive to beach visits. If you’re seeking a beach vacation, you’ll need to go when the weather is warmer. Macau has a dry and wet season. Usually, the weather is overcast and warm in the springtime and rainy and hot over the summer months. Expect the weather to be clear in the fall and sunny and cold in the winter. The average annual temperature is about 72 degrees Fahrenheit, or 20 degrees on the Celsius scale. Macau sees about 100 days during the year where the temperature hovers around 86 degrees Fahrenheit or 30 degrees Celsius.
The Best Hotels in Macau
With the city’s tourism and hotel scene growing every year, it can be hard to decide where to stay when visiting Macau. Some of my suggestions include The Grand Hyatt in Macau, which is located on the Cotai Strip, and the Wynn Macau, which is located on the Peninsula. The Sands Macao Hotel is a budget-friendly option that boasts excellent service, great amenities, and a top-notch location, making it extremely visitor-friendly. It is part of the Sands Hotel of Las Vegas. In
Summary
Macau is a true cultural melting pot, with influences from Europe, Asia, and the Americas. It’s a unique destination that’s worth visiting. Allow me to serve as your travel agent advisor for everything Macau. I know you’re going to love your vacation. Let’s start planning your Macau holiday!
