Whether you’re seeking family-friendly activities, a romantic getaway or exciting adventures, I’ve got you covered as your Maine travel agent professional. From coastal towns to forested regions, I can share the best places with you to visit in Maine.  Where should you stay? What are the best activities? How much time should you allocate for your trip? I can give you the answers! While there are many different types of places to visit in Maine, you’ll discover that most of them revolve around nature and outdoor activities like hiking, boating, fishing, and skiing. Whether you’re interested in visiting during the summer or fall months, I can plan the trip of a lifetime. From hotels to RV parks to bed & breakfasts and cabins. Are you looking for a vacation packed with stunning scenery, mouth-watering food, and cozy getaways? If so, Maine is a New England gem you can’t overlook.  Cruise along Maine’s Scenic Drives Cruising along Maine’s scenic drives is one of the best ways to see a wide variety of beautiful landscapes and natural wonders in a short amount of time. Therefore, driving along the Maine Scenic Byway is a must-see excursion.  You’ll drive through the Appalachian Mountains and nearby lakes, see beautiful fall foliage and experience the “Home of the Paddle.” Another scenic route that you’ll want to experience is the Lobster Byway.  Cruise along the coast, visit nearby fishing villages and unique Maine landmarks—and see the famous lobster traps.  Blue Hill Heritage Drive is another excellent option.. This scenic drive will take you past lush landscapes, old farmhouses and antique buildings, all which makes it a great choice if you’re interested in exploring the state’s history. Hike Along the Trails Hiking is definitely one of the best ways to explore Maine’s nature. There are plenty of trails and forests where you can hike, but some of the most popular ones include the Appalachian Trail, the Coastal Trail and the Moosehead Trail.  The Appalachian Trail is one of the most famous trails in the world, and you can hike a portion of the path in Maine. As noted, you can also hike the Coastal Trail, a path that takes you along the coastline.  Moosehead Trail allows you to trek a variety of terrains, including forests, fields and mountains.  Go Kayaking or Canoeing If you’re interested in exploring Maine’s waterways, kayaking and canoeing are excellent ways to do so. You can take this mode of transport on lakes or streams. Many lakes and rivers have nearby outfitters where you can rent kayaks and canoes.  And if you plan your kayaking or canoeing excursion for the fall months, you’ll have the opportunity to experience the state’s beautiful foliage. You’ll also be able to go out on the water when it is a bit more peaceful, which makes it a great choice if you’re trying to avoid crowds during your trip Catch Some Big Fish During the Summer Months If you’re interested in going fishing in Maine, you’ll want to visit the state during the summer months. This is the best time to catch some of the biggest fish, like salmon, shad, trout, herring and mackerel. You’ll find many different types of fishing excursions, from boat fishing to shore fishing, where you can catch these bigger fish.  One popular fishing expedition is the “Salmon in a Day” experience. Visit a salmon stream where you can catch a salmon—and, if you’re lucky, you’ll catch a salmon that is larger than 20 pounds. You can also visit an oyster farm and learn how to harvest oysters, a popular fishing activity. Spend Time at a  Cozy Inn or B&B If you’d prefer to stay in a cozy inn or B&B rather than camping or booking a hotel, you can do so in Maine. Many of these properties are located in scenic areas, making them great places to explore.  Enjoy a holiday at a B&B or inn that offers outdoor activities and nearby excursions, like kayaking, hiking and more. There are plenty of B&Bs and inns in Maine from which to choose. Whether you want to stay at a luxury inn or a rustic B&B, you’ll find what you’re seeking. Ski During the Winter Months If you’re more interested in visiting Maine during the winter months, you’ll want to head to the mountains in Maine. There are many ski resorts from which you can choose, but a few of the best include Sugarloaf and Sunday River.  These resorts offer a wide variety of ski runs, as well as great amenities and lifts, making them perfect for skiers of all abilities. You can also enjoy snowshoeing and cross-country skiing in this part of the state. You’ll love visiting Maine throughout the year. Again, you can go kayaking, canoeing and fishing during the spring, summer, or fall,, and you can enjoy skiing or snowmobiling during the winter months. Choose a scenic drive or hike along one of Maine’s trails, or explore one of its charming and welcoming cities.  Allow me, as your travel agent professional, to plan the perfect Maine adventure. Give me a call right now so we can plan the ideal itinerary.
