My trip to this captivating Central American country was an immersive experience filled with breathtaking landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and unforgettable encounters with wildlife.Touching down in Belize City, I was immediately drawn to the vibrant colors and bustling energy of this coastal metropolis. But my true adventure began as I ventured beyond the city limits, into the heart of Belize's untamed wilderness.My first stop was the ancient Maya ruins of Altun Ha, where towering pyramids and intricately carved temples stood silent sentinel over the surrounding jungle. Exploring the ancient city, I marveled at the architectural feats of the Maya civilization and imagined life in this once-thriving metropolis.Continuing my journey, I delved into the lush rainforest's of Belize, home to an astonishing diversity of flora and fauna. Trekking through dense foliage and across rushing rivers, I encountered exotic creatures such as howler monkeys, jaguars, and vibrant tropical birds. Exploring the vast network of caves that riddle the landscape, I marveled at intricate limestone formations and ancient Maya artifacts hidden within their depths.But it was Belize's spectacular coastline that truly stole my heart. Traveling to the idyllic island of Ambergris Caye, I found myself surrounded by crystalline waters teeming with marine life. Snorkeling along vibrant coral reefs, I swam alongside colorful fish, graceful rays, and even the occasional gentle giant, the whale shark. Relaxing on sun-drenched beaches and sipping cocktails as the sun dipped below the horizon, I felt a profound sense of peace and tranquility wash over me.Throughout my journey, I was struck by the warmth and hospitality of the Belizean people, who welcomed me into their homes and shared their rich cultural traditions with open arms. Whether sampling traditional Belizean cuisine like fry jacks and rice and beans, or learning to dance to the infectious rhythms of punta music, I felt a deep connection to the vibrant tapestry of Belizean culture.As my time in Belize came to an end, I found myself reluctant to leave this enchanting land of adventure and discovery. But as I boarded my plane home, I knew that the memories of my journey would stay with me forever, a testament to the beauty and wonder of this extraordinary country.

Big Rock Falls Located in Mountain Pine Ridge

I really enjoyed my whole entire week in Mountain Pine Ridge the first place I went was Blancaneaux Lodge A little about this awesome resort Blancaneaux Lodge is n the early 1980s, Francis Ford Coppola visited Belize, immediately fell in love with the location, and purchased the abandoned Blancaneaux Lodge. For more than a decade the resort was used as a family retreat before Francis opened his tropical paradise to the public in 1993. Tucked away in a pocket of the Maya Mountains, Blancaneaux Lodge is a 20-room luxury resort where waterfalls tumble into turquoise pools above the jungle canopy. Its remote mountain setting makes it a perfect place to relax, rejuvenate and enjoy life’s simple pleasures.

my experience was amazing I loved it so much! Exceptional experience from the moment I arrived. Every aspect of my stay was beyond expectations - from my reception at arrival to my beautiful, clean cabana to the attentive waitstaff and delicious food to the housekeeping who provided delights every day and a big shout out to the amazing guides (Jeronimo, Philip and Alex) who were a wealth of knowledge! I cannot recommend the lodge enough!

the next place I went to stay at was MET IS Mountain Equestrain Trails the owners are very good friends of my Mom and Dad they have known me since I was a child. my experience with them was David was our guide and was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We did the full day ride to the waterfall. It was about two and a half hours riding each way. David let us stay as long as we wanted at the waterfall to go swimming. prior to arrival so they could pair us with the best matched horse. They also provide plenty of cold water bottles and saddlebags for our stuff. All of us enjoyed our horses. MET recommends wearing long pants which is a good idea because of the bugs and branches and vines. There are a few horseback riding options in Belize but we researched and chose the one that seems to take the best care of their horses. These horses work hard but are taken good care of here. Ticks are an issue in Belize. The horses free graze and are treated for ticks when they are ridden as they get quite a few ticks in the pasture. Be sure to check yourself for ticks after the ride as well. This is an interesting way to see the rainforest and MET has been around a long time a they do a good job.
