Vira Vira Lodge and Dining Room

I had the pleasure of escorting a group to the And Beyond Vira Vira Hacienda & Relais in Pucon, Chile.  Located in the lakes region this luxury resort has 12 Villas and 6 Hotel rooms.

The 12 villas are over the top with luxury king bedding, a sofa, sitting area, fireplace all with a view of the  Liucura River. The bathrooms has a rain shower, indoor and outdoor spa tub. The heated floors are a definite plus.  The hotel rooms over the lodge are exquisite too.

The property is on a 22-hectare estate, this modern guesthouse surrounded by greenery and mountain views is 7 km from Ojos del Caburgua and 14 km from Lake Caburga. The S-905 is 2 km away. The sophisticated villas and suites featuring floor-to-ceiling windows offer free Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, and en suite bathrooms. Minimum-stay rules may apply.Farm-to-table breakfast and dinner are free. Other amenities include a wellness spa, 2 hot tubs, yoga classes and a library. There's also a working farm, an organic vegetable garden and a cheese factory.

The excursions are endless and included.  There is slow rafting, wild white-water rafting, leisure and challenging hikes to the volcano, hot springs or waterfalls. Fly fishing in a option in waders or from a raft.  There is bicycling and horseback riding too.

The meals are presented in style. A Michelin rated chef prepares exquisite meals from produce and animals raised on the farm. Wines are pared to appetizers and main dishes. All Chilean and top notch.

Our group spend 5 days and 4 nights here. I admit I had to take a break one morning and get a massage and rest up for white water rafting.

We all made friends with Juan the bartender.  Craft cocktails were made with traditional bourbon, gin or pisco- all with a touch of local herbs.  A spring of rosemary seemed to be popular.  Juan had about 5 herbs on the bar ready for any cocktail.
