Voladores de Papantla

I hadn't been back to Puerto Vallarta in 40 years. Yet, the Vallarta I encountered at the beginning of 2022 was nothing like the small port city I had been to my timeshare years back.

Mismaloya was just some huts selling souvenirs and nothing more then. Now, it has resorts, houses, and small tiendas.

The coast is filled with hotels, shops, and restaurants.

The beaches are incredible. Water taxis allow you to access many of the ones that are hard to get to. We hiked to one near Punta Mita, and they had actual 'cocodrilos" signs. We looked but didn't find any. Later my daughter sent me pictures of about 5 of them, alive and well.

The Malecon is a great place to see the street performers, art vendors, and Los Voladores de Papantla (the Flying Indians of Papantla). Wow, hanging upside down and unwinding down. I watched them for a long time while eating and drinking at one of the many restaurants.

There is much to do in Puerto Vallarta for everyone. I hope to see you there!
