One of the Canary Islands - must experience

One of the most beautiful travel destinations on the planet are the Canary Islands. That is why I love representing the island group as a travel agent specialist. Once you find out more about the islands, you too will want to explore and learn more about planning a trip to this spectacular travel location. To understand why the Canary Islands are considered a treasure among travelers, you need an introduction. The island represents a group of volcanic isles--7 to be exact--that lie in the Atlantic Ocean off the African coast. They are popular among tourists due to their stunning shores and year-round warm climates. There is something to do for everyone, as you can sail, windsurf, explore historic villages and towns, and hike along forested paths. You can bike or swim or  just sit out by the pool and customize your vacation plans. First settled by the Phoenicians in the eighth century BC, the islands later became a part of the Roman Empire. In the fifteenth century, the Spanish conquered the island group, which has been part of the country ever since.  As your travel agent specialist for the Canary Island, I can recommend several enjoyable activities. You’ll want to take in the country’s natural beauty, as the islands are home to some of the most stunning landscapes in the world. From majestic mountains to its spell-binding waters, you’ll have plenty to explore and do. The capital of the popular island of Tenerife is Santa Cruz de Tenerife - a vibrant city that is home to various attractions, including the Museum of the Canary Islands and the Museum of Nature and Man (with interactive displays). If you want to get acquainted with the Canary Islands, I strongly suggest you visit the Museum of the Canary Islands, located in a building erected in the last 1800s. It represents the largest center dedicated to island culture in the archipelago. The museum conserves and displays both ethnographic and archaeological items - items that highlight a collection of more than 2,000 prehistoric skulls. It also features an archive and library covering topics related to the island chain.  Since its opening in 1984, the museum has centered its collection on the pre-Hispanic cultures of the island, making it a must-visit site for anyone who wants to know more about the subject. Santa Cruz de Tenerife sits along the waters on the island of Tenerife with its well-conserved buildings in the old town, including the colonial Church of the Immaculate Conception. It is also home to the Palacio de Carta, which was built in the eighteenth century.  The place is stunning with its neoclassical design and baroque details. City squares include the popular Plaza de Espana. Naturally, no visit is complete without sampling the islands’ food and drink. You’ll love the local wines and cheeses or tasting traditional cuisine, such as papas arrugadas (wrinkled potatoes) and gofio (a Canarian grain used in island dishes). Besides visiting the capital on the island of Tenerife, you’ll also want to pay a visit to the volcanic isle of La Palmas, with its lush green forest and barren volcanic terrains. You can explore the volcanoes or go hiking, or simply relax and enjoy the surrounding natural beauty. Las Palmas is located off the northwest coast of Africa and is dotted with several volcanoes, some of the most popular being Cumbre Vieja and Teneguia. The capital of the island, Santa Cruz de la Palmas, is a port town that features cobbled streets and homes with wood balconies.  It is also home to the Caldera de Taburiente National Park, known for its large crater-shaped formation, located among pines and sculpted by waterfalls. Another island you must see in Lanzarote. You’ll just love this destination, a hub for Timanfaya National Park, created by volcanic activity in the 1730s. Cueva de los Vedes, on the isle, features caverns that were created by underground lava. I spent Christmas time there, and it is beautiful how the people from Tenerife celebrate this holiday. Going downtown, they have moving Christmas exhibits that are so detailed to the smallest detail. You can spend hours watchingThe people in Tenerife are amicable, and you can be sure that you will want to return to this gem close to the northwest coast of Africa. A good jumping point to Morocco. Also, the eastern coast resort town of Puerto del Carmen welcomes visitors with its dive centers, beaches, and whitewashed villas. Are you ready to go on an island adventure? If so, allow me to arrange the ideal itinerary as your Canary Islands travel agent specialist. Give me a call now so we can begin planning a one-of-a-kind holiday.
