On Safari in the Masai Mara National Park

Amazing Kenya, The most recent time I travelled to Kenya, we flew to Johannesburg the gate way to some of South Africa’s safari parks and reserves, after enjoying our stay there we flew into the capital of Kenya which is called Nairobi , we were greeted at the airport and a very friendly welcome at our hotel with big smiles and the word Jambo which you will hear a lot of in Kenya as it means hello ! After exploring the sites of Nairobi with our tour guide we had an early night as we were to leave after a delicious breakfast in the morning to drive to Mount Kenya. Mount Kenya is vital to the livelihood of the locals. They use the mountain’s forests to collect firewood, graze livestock and cultivate crops. Mount Kenya also plays a critical role as it serves as a water catchment . We enjoyed a stay at Mount Kenya before driving south to Lake Nakuru National Park, which is world famous for its stunning flocks of lesser flamingoes which turns its shores pink. Its bird life is renowned worldwide. Enjoying our stay at Lake Nakuru we then headed to the famous Masi Mara National Reserve located in the south western Kenya on the border with Tanzania and showcases big families of elephants, buffaloes, lions, and hippos among many more. Enjoying morning, afternoon and evening safari drives each day it was amazing to see so many of the big 5 animals. The most memorable moment apart from the animals was meeting some of the Masi Mara Tribe who jump incredible high and wearing their red cloth wrapped around them, the red is to scare away lions. They are semi-nomadic people who are into cattle trading , they are highly recognized due to their close living proximity to the different game reserves in this region. After a fantastic stay we headed north to Nairobi along the way enjoying stunning views of the Rift Valley. Completing a loop through Kenya we enjoyed another stay in Nairobi one of the highlights was dinner at the famous Carnivore Restaurant.We look forward to returning to Kenya say Jumbo . Let me share with you the wonders of Kenya and South Africa and all that it has to offer.
