A popular destination on the East Coast The Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania are one of the most beautiful and romantic U.S. travel destinations. Not only can you enjoy the Great Outdoors, the area serves as a perfect weekend getaway as well as a wonderful place to learn more about the state’s history. Also known as the Poconos, the Pocono region of Pennsylvania covers wooded peaks, valleys, and lakes in Pennsylvania. The eastern edge is an avian haven known as Delaware Water Gap, making the region the idyllic place to hone your birdwatching skills. You’ll also want to view the cascades at Bushkill Falls, or if you visit in the winter, make reservations at one of the many exciting ski resorts.. If you like to fish, I can arrange a fishing trip to Lake Wallenpaupack in the north. Camelback Mountain, in the area, is the highest peak. The Pocono Indian Museum is another must-see attraction. At the museum, you’ll find displays of antiquities from the time of the Delaware tribe’s occupation. You’ll see artifacts like arrowheads, ancient tools, and 150-year-old peace pipes unearthed by explorers. The museum offers an in-depth look into the past inhabitants and the development of the area. In addition, guests may observe rare butterfly species in their native habitat at Bear Mountain Butterfly Sanctuary. Local farmer's markets, and activities such as hiking, mountain biking and kayaking are other activities that make this area tourist-friendly. In fact, the area is home to nine state parks and two national parks, so you can fully engage in nature and all that it offers. You can also visit the Poconos year-round. Ski or snowboard in the winter months or horseback ride, camp, golf, or boat at other times. If you want to ski, my recommendation is Boulder Mountain - known for having long ski runs and an innovatively designed terrain park. You might also want to stay at Great Wolf Lodge, which is close to the Big Boulder ski site. If you like to hike, I’d suggest exploring the Appalachian Trail, which weaves through the area’s forests. Or, if you love wine, I’d advise setting aside time and enjoying wine tasting activities. You might also like snow tubing or snowshoeing at Shawnee Mountain. In summer, an adventure at the outdoor waterpark, Camelbeach is always a fun activity. The place is home to wave pools, raft slides, and other splashy pursuits. The summer site is part of the Camelback Mountain Resort, which features snowy forms of fun in the winter months. As your Poconos travel agent specialist, I know you’ll love the Poconos as much as I love arranging trips to this part of Pennsylvania. Why don’t you call me now so we can start arranging your perfect holiday?
