As a Phuket travel agent advisor, I must admit I’m enamored with the destination. Phuket City, on Phuket Island is the capital of Phuket Province in Thailand. It is one of those unique places on earth that no one can duplicate.  For example, in the city’ Old Town, Thalang Road features brightly colored 19th-century shophouses and unique Sino-Portuguese architecture. Then there’s the Baan Chinpracha mansion, which a wealthy tin businessman built in 1903. The estate features shuttered windows, antique furnishings, and floor tiles made in Italy. Besides its history and architecture, Phuket is also home to beautiful beaches and incredible temples. I’ve compiled a list of some of the top attractions to see. 1. Big Buddha: The Big Buddha of Phuket is a stunning figure proudly looking over the island from its lofty perch on top of the Nakkerd Hills. This magnificent 45-meter statue is made from Burmese white marble and can be seen from many parts of the city. The immense statue guards Chalong Bay. 2. Old Town: For a taste of the history of Phuket, make sure to visit the Old Town. Here, you can wander the narrow streets, where you can explore some unique buildings, shops, and historic landmarks. 3. Wat Chalong: One of the most important Buddhist temples in Phuket is Wat Chalong. The main attraction here is the tall chedi, which is adorned with colorful tiles and statues. It’s a great place to learn more about Buddhism and admire the intricate architecture. 4. Phuket Fantasea: If you’re looking for a more lively experience, check out Phuket Fantasea. Macau represents an autonomous section that sits on the southern coast of China, across from Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta. Until 1999, it was a Portuguese territory. You will find this destination both culturally diverse and fun. Known as the Las Vegas of Asia, the area boasts malls and casinos lying on the Cotai Strip. 3. The Macau Tower  If you’re short on time and want to skip the hustle and bustle of the city, head to Macau Tower – one of the best places to visit in Macau. Located on the western edge of the Cotai Strip, the tower is a great place to get picturesque views of the city and neighboring islands.  

4. Maritime Museum Another great option if you’re looking to get outside the city is the Macau Maritime Museum.  You can find it at #1 Largo do Pagode da Barra. It sits opposite to A-Ma Temple. 

5. A-Ma Temple Built in dedication to the sea-goddess Mazu, A-Ma Temple was built in 1488. The temple is one of the oldest temples in Macau. Macau is a great place to visit all year round, but the weather isn’t always conducive to beach visits. If you’re seeking a beach vacation, you’ll need to go when the weather is warmer.   Macau has a dry and wet season. Usually, the weather is overcast and warm in the springtime and rainy and hot over the summer months. Expect the weather to be clear in the fall and sunny and cold in the winter.  The average annual temperature is about 72 degrees Fahrenheit, or 20 degrees on the Celsius scale. Macau sees about 100 days during the year where the temperature hovers around 86 degrees Fahrenheit or 30 degrees Celsius.
