Because Norweigans love adventure, food is no exception. For example, every residential Norwegian forages, and you can do the same as well on your Norway holiday. That is why I often suggest that travelers visiting Norway go on a foraging tour in August or September. That is when the hedgerows are in full bloom and prized porcini mushrooms can be easily found.  However, never pick mushrooms without a guide to help. That is why a foraging tour is a must-do activity. You can also pick dew-sparkling amber berries, cloudberries, and lingonberries in places  such as Hardangervidda and Rondane. Also, Husmanskost is a hearty and inviting lunch you will love - open sandwiches that feature sourdough or rye bread, topped with charcuterie, veggies, or seafood. You can savor the cuisine in places, such as the Havariet Bistro in Oslofjord.  Classic dinner dishes include unique and succulent foods, such as elk meatballs and reindeer stew, also called finnbiff. Enjoy these evening staples in places, such as the Elgustua Guesthouse in East Norway. When you eat that type of delicious food, you will need to find ways to work off the calories, and Norway has plenty of activities in which you can take part. One of the popular activities of the country, naturally, is skiing.  The word, "ski," itself comes from the Old Norse language. Many Norweigans assert that they had skis on their feet when they were born. Therefore, if you want to ski, you will find Norway to be a skiers paradise. You can hit the powder in winter or ski down a glacier during the summer. Wyoming is a special place in the U.S. Not only can you find plenty to do in the Great Outdoors, you can retreat to resorts that provide a rustic type of luxury. It is simply one of the best places to plan a western vacation. That is why I enjoy serving clients as a Wyoming and Jackson Hole travel agent professional. I often point clients toward Jackson Hole, as it is home to some beautiful sites and offers plenty to do in both the summer and winter. For example, the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is one of the top places to ski in the U.S.  Found in a secluded corner of Wyoming, this off-the-beaten track accommodation is the ideal place to take to the slopes. The Western feel of the locale and incredible terrain and scenery can't be beat. While Yellowstone National Park sits about an hour away from the town of Jackson or the Jackson Hole area, you don't want to forget Grand Teton National Park. Not only will you delight in seeing the Teton Range in all its glory, you can hike, kayak, rock-climb, run trails, backpack, or swim in this smaller nature preserve. The area is also a draw for rafters who like to sail over the Snake River. Views of the Snake River Canyon and the hills of Grey's National Forest will always stay etched in your memory. I think one fun expedition to take is a snowmobile trip to Granite Hot Springs during the winter. The hot spring is pure therapy for anyone who wants to relax after skiing or hiking. The surrounding views of the Swift Creek Pass and Gros Ventre mountains, plus the wildflowers in the summer, make this trip a highlight of a Wyoming vacation. If you enjoy camping, Wyoming offers plenty of spots in which to enjoy the activity, especially in the summer and fall. Whether you wish to camp closer to town or find a backcountry spot, you will find the activity a nice respite from your usual daily activities. Besides camping, there is always biking, fly-fishing, and snow-shoeing to do. I also like to suggest that travelers visit the National Elk Refuge. Not only can you see elk up close, you can admire the setting sun behind the Grand Teton Range. Indeed, Wyoming has no shortage of beautiful places to visit or things to do.
