I greatly enjoy working as a Pertu travel agent professional, as Peru is both unique and welcoming. If you have always wanted to see South America, Peru is one country that must be included on your travel itinerary.The sun-worshipping Incas built the world's biggest empire in Peru, a beautiful kingdom rich in gold that was a key source of riches for Europeans in the sixteenth century. Those treasures have piqued European interest ever since. Peru is also home to the first stone pyramids in the world, unearthed in the late twentieth century. In addition, many pre-Incan civilizations have left their mark on Peru's desert coast, which is dotted with massive structures made of adobe. It’s these types of archeological achievements that draw tourists from the world over. Along with the country’s stunning landscapes and diverse fauna, Peru proves to be much more than its famed Andean mountain range.The intriguing South American country also exhibits a lovely desert coast and large stretches of tropical rainforest, which tourists generally overlook. The Andes, which represent peaks that soar over 6,000 meters (19,685 feet), span the whole length of the country. These mountains separate the jungle from the desert terrain and coast. Ceviche begins a meal perfectly, as it is usually served as an appetizer. It is made of shrimp or raw fresh fish and marinated in lime or lemon. While Peru has its fair share of Westernized eating establishments, I strongly recommend you visit the local eateries. Try the ceviche with a salad, sweet potato and corn - something Peruvians often eat for a Sunday afternoon meal. While it may, at first, sound unappealing, the cuy (roast guinea pig) is actually tasty - at least for those who are brave enough to sample it.The street food is tantalizing and reasonably priced and provides easily accessible options, such as grilled meats and empanadas, which are savory pastries filled with ingredients, fried or baked.
